I’m very happy to finally see the roll out of Spotify’s API in apps. SpotOn brings a very pleasing Last fm experience to Spotify, thanks to the integration of music recommendation technology from the Echo Nest. The lack of an easy mobile discovery mechanism in Spotify was one of the major limitations of the service for me. Thankfully SpotOn makes up for this. I’m hoping that more developers will make even greater use of the API to create even more uses of Spotify. Perhaps there’s potential for an interesting integration with 3D visualisation tools for example.
